CORPORATE LOBBYING IN THE EUROPEAN UNION

What is the role of lobby groups and non-state organizations in shaping and implementing policies within the European Union (EU)? How do they leverage their knowledge, networks, and resources to influence the EU decision-making process? What are their channels for sharing and obtaining strategic data and information?
These questions will be the subject of an intensive seminar dedicated to understanding the sphere of expertise, knowledge-sharing and influence that contributes to shaping the decisions and policies of the European Union.

The seminar aims to:
– examine how different channels of influence interact and contribute to the development of EU policies;
– identify the main actors and key moments in the EU consultation and decision-making processes;
– understand the different stages of various stages involved in crafting an effective influence strategy, including methodology, decision-making timelines, essential tools, and sources of information

Students will develop the skills necessary to comprehend the decision-making framework of the European Union and analyse EU affairs using critical thinking.

Through case studies and role plays, the seminar will cover a wide range of topics, and current affairs will serve as the basis for reviewing diverse lobbying tactics and strategies.
