TECHNOLOGY ADOPTION AND INNOVATION IN SUPPLY CHAINS: INTEGRATING INDIAN ETHOS AND CULTURAL VALUES IN OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT

This seminar focuses on the role of technology adoption and innovation in supply chain management, with particular emphasis on integrating Indian cultural values and ethos into operational practices. The course aims to provide students with an understanding of how traditional principles such as trust, ethics, and community orientation influence business processes and supply chain efficiency.

The seminar covers key concepts of supply chain management and examines how technological advancements such as digital platforms, mobile-based systems, and agri-tech solutions are transforming operations across sectors. The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) is introduced as a framework to analyze the adoption of technology in different contexts, particularly in emerging economies.

Students will explore case studies, including ITC e-Choupal, Amul cooperative systems, and grassroots innovations by farmers, to understand the practical application of technology in supply chains. The course also discusses challenges such as infrastructure limitations, resistance to change, and policy constraints affecting adoption.

Overall, the seminar aims to develop students’ ability to analyze, evaluate, and apply technology-driven solutions in supply chain management while considering cultural and contextual factors.
