Smart decisions require accurate predictions. So, how can we better predict the future? Cognitive scientists and AI engineers know that prediction is the essence of intelligence, so improving our forecasting skills will help us to become smarter, individually and collectively. This class will teach you, with theory and practice, how to leverage collective and artificial intelligence to improve your forecasting abilities and those of the organizations your career will lead you to participate in, whether in private business or public government. To hone your skills, you will participate in on-line prediction tournaments covering topics in economics and geopolitics. The techniques you will learn will help you own the future.
EMILE SERVAN-SCHREIBER
Emile Servan-Schreiber is a French American cognitive scientist and entrepreneur. He leads Hypermind.com, a consulting and technology firm that he co-founded in 2000. It provides prediction markets and human-AI hybrid forecasting platforms for business strategy or government policy. He is also a founding member of the School of Collective Intelligence at University Mohammed VI Polytechnic (UM6P). He holds a B.S. in applied mathematics and a Ph.D. in cognitive psychology from Carnegie Mellon University.
