This seminar will highlight why the importance of DEI continues to grow in our shared spaces and how its impact can shape our lived experiences as stakeholders via a business case or as a moral imperative. The seminar will be utilizing data, subject matter expertise/thought leadership to invoke conversations and critical thinking on DEI subject matter. Students will learn how they can navigate their respective career pursuits successfully armed with a stronger understanding of a profession that is going from strength to strength as an accountability framework, regulatory requirement and a measure of social capital

1. The student will be able to understand the foundational justification for DEI in the workplace and society
2. The student will be able to appreciate the importance of data to dimension diversity composition and measure inclusion levels
3. The student will understand the role of the Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer/DEI departments in the workplace and how their work affects work culture and talent experience
4. The student will understand how DEI is shaping the future of work culture
5. The student will be exposed to career pathways and opportunities within the DEI profession
