The objective is to understand the evolution of international relations from a period of progressive hyper-globalisation of the 1990s characterised by a period of relative international order and competitive co-operation reflected in the expansion of multilateral framework to accommodate and include major emerging economies, through to the current era of Deglobalisation/risking and fragmentation requiring often uneasy co-existence and characterised by heightened rivalry and conflict.

Skills
Through an examination of real-world case studies based on direct lived experience spanning three decades, the Seminar will seek to equip attendees with the elements to understand and navigate the current international context and to collectively project forward towards new models of international interaction adapted to an age of greater and prolonged uncertainty, ranging from co-existence to co-operation.
