04 Nov MOVIES IN THE SUBSCRIPTION VOD BUSINESS
The Film industry has experienced a tremendous evolution in the last 10-15 years, peaking during the last 4 ones with the acceleration caused by the COVID pandemic and the exceptional growth of the Subscription Video On Demand (SVOD) services.
This seminar wants to provide students of any profile with an overview of the last evolution of the licensing movie business, focusing on the particularities of the SVOD model and the impact the SVOD services had on the overall industry in the last years.
The sessions would cover different areas, among others: changes in the different distribution windows, ways of structuring the financing of the films or how a movie is analyzed and valued to assess a potential acquisition of distribution rights.
The course also proposes a focused look at the past, presenting a real case that seeks to provide the students with a critical thinking approach about how to identify business opportunities in areas non explored before.
