04 Nov NEW GEOPOLITICS FOR A CHALLENGING WORLD DISORDER
Geopolitics and international relations are among the most complex disciplines in academia. Only a cross-cutting and interdisciplinary approach can provide the closest possible insight into reality. In international relations, historical events have always been the consequence not of a single factor, but of a constellation of causes: political, economic, social, cultural and psychological.
In turn, understanding this dimension is becoming increasingly necessary for actors both in the public sector (both administrative and political) and the private sector in order to understand the complex world we are moving towards. Hence, the renewed importance and necessity of this seminar in order to understand today’s world. As a consequence, the aim of this seminar is to convey this complex reality in a synthetic way and in a short period of time to the students.
In order to have a better understanding of a discipline as complex as International Relations, this seminar will adopt a transversal and interdisciplinary approach that is rarely found in other programmes. In short, a very exceptional synthesis that only a Diplomat with a solid academic and professional background can convey. To this end, various aspects of international relations and geopolitics in the 20th and 21st centuries will be addressed. The focus will be on the facts, causes and consequences of historical and current events. It will deal with the different dimensions that come into play in international relations such as: historical, economic, political, social, cultural, psychological and geographical aspects. In this way, the student will obtain a broad vision of the main events of the last centuries that have shaped our current world disorder.
