TECH TOOLS: FUNDAMENTALS OF EXCEL (SEGOVIA 2C-ONLINE – AFTERNOON)

(TEN SESSIONS SEMINAR)
The purpose of this course is to provide students with a basic knowledge necessary to build simple models in excel through different steps:

Navigate Excel home menu and basic functions (i.e. format cells, formulas, use of $ sign, print preview and layout, paste and paste special);
Introduce key rules to simple modeling;
Create charts, tables and presentations;
Create and link financial statements;
Introduce databases and logical functions;
Introduce essential statistical tools.

Upon completion of this seminar, students will be able to:

prepare basic tables, graphs and charts;
create spreadsheets related to investment decision making (i.e. NPV, IRR);
use logical excel functions and create basic macros;
create company valuation models and perform sensitivity analysis;
create and use databases as well as database functions;
become familiar with main statistical tools (i.e. frequency, correlation, regression); and problem-solving algorithms for finance, marketing or human resource-related decisions.
